BIZEN ware has a history stretching back 1,000 years. Unlike other styles of pottery, it is not glazed or painted, but fired at high temperatures to bring out the natural sheen of the clay itself.
The natural changes brought about by the flames and firewood ash in the kiln create unique patterns on the potteries.
May we introduce our some young potters carrying on the long history of BIZEN ware, and show you some of their challenges and best artworks.

Guests who order sake at Hanasanshou will be provided a BIZEN ware of your choice to enjoy your drink.
